గుర్తుండే ఉంటుంది. "ఎంత బావుందీ గీతం " అని విప్రనారాయణుడు అంటే "జయదేవ కవి కవిత్వమే అంత స్వామీ "
అంటుంది దేవదేవి - సినిమాలో. నిజానికి విప్రనారాయణుడు ఎనిమిదవ శతాబ్దానికి చెందిన వాడు జయదేవుడు
పన్నెండవ శతాబ్దానికి చెందిన వాడు. అంటే నాలుగు వందల సంవత్సరాల తర్వాత పుట్టాడన్నమాట.
నాలుగు వందల సంవత్సరాల తర్వాత పుట్టబోయే వారు రాయబోయే గీతాన్ని వర్తమానం లో పాడడం ఎలా సాధ్యం ?
ఎంత వరకు సబబు ? ఈ విషయాన్ని అప్పట్లో ప్రేక్షకులేవ్వరూ పట్టించుకోలేదు . సన్నివేశం , నటన బాగుంటే
ప్రేక్షకులు లాజిక్ జోలికి పోరనటానికి ఇదో ఉదాహరణ .

Dear Raja garu,
I am sorry to differ with you on Vipranarayana. When I was 16 year- old, i.e., 24 years ago, I saw Vipranarayana first time. As I am fond of Bhanumathi, I was obsessed and overwhelmed by her songs and voice. Even though, I was taken aback by the reference to Bhakta Jayadeva in Vipranarayana, which is highly ridiculous.
With the exalted maturity levels, owing to my exposure to the world, I understood that Vipranarayana was a bad film, but for a few lyrics by Samudrala, rendered by colossus Bhanumathi and A M Raja (Chudumadee Cheliya... Kanulaa... Chudumadee Cheliya...).
Why it is a bad movie?
1. If it had been a film to depict a life segment of Vipranarayana, Thondaripodi Alwar, they should have confined to historical (mythical) aspects of the Alwar.
2. Or, if the Director/ narrator of the film had wanted to explore the intricacies in male- female relation, with reference to the tale of Vipranarayana, they should have been more keen on the aesthetic aspect of the subject (to bring a parallel, Gudipati Venkata Chalam's treatment with Urvasi- Pururava, or with Tara- Sasanka).
But, the film represented neither.
Just imagine Raja garu: If Shakespeare in the film 'Shakespeare In Love' had quoted William Blake, what would have been the consequences in the film world? Will the audience ignore, or overlook that 'mistake', in lieu of the erudition of cast/ starring?
I mean to say, our Telugu film world has been a non-serious entity and it has nothing to do with 'films' at its core...
